Growing up my parents were very concerned about me and my siblings safety. We lived in an area that didn’t have the best school district and my mother was a very traditional person. At the time not very many children did a Christian home schooling program, but that is what my mother decided to do with us. We were lucky to have such great parents who were committed to our education who gave us all that we needed in our own home. We still did lots of un extracurricular things, but when it came right down to it, our home was where we were educated and spent most of our time.

My mother was really a pioneer in these things and since Christian home schooling has become much more common. In fact I have three children of my own and we do the same thing. However, unlike my mother I have a whole community of people who are doing the same thing as I am for a variety of reasons. Some are unhappy with the school system, others just like having their children home, while other’s have special needs kids. Whatever the reason I have had only wonderful experiences with homeschooling.
